About Sojourner

Sojourner is the lodge-visitation game: visit lodges, verify your visits with an exterior photo after you arrive, collect passport stamps, and earn points for the road. The Founding Season covers the lodges of Washington, seeded by the Monday Circuit, and runs through January 31, 2027 — verified visits roll over at the conversion, they are not wiped.

Sojourner is an independent project, by and for traveling brothers. It is not an official product of, and is not endorsed by, the Grand Lodge of Washington or any lodge — and nothing in the app is an official lodge or Grand Lodge record.

What's New

v0.8.2 — Nov 2, 2026. Self-healing updates: the app's offline cache now holds only what the release itself installed (a stored bad response once stranded players after an update), a new version reloads the page once when it takes over so nothing runs mismatched, and if the lodge list ever fails to appear the app reloads itself once automatically. No one should ever have to clear browser data to recover from an update.
v0.8.1 — Nov 2, 2026. Update safety: page loads now fetch fresh when online, the lodge list retries once if its data hiccups, and if the list truly can't load the app says so with a reload button instead of sitting empty.
v0.8.0 — Nov 2, 2026. A tighter ship for the Founding Season: the season banner now minimizes to a one-line strip (tap Minimize / Show details); the top bar is slimmer — your verified-lodge count rides the home-lodge line — and the coin is bigger in the header and on your player card, where it now sits top-left beside the wordmark; the bottom bars are tighter and spacing is trimmed throughout, Passport boxes included. The demo rankings board is retired — no invented brothers; standings now read in three bands (★ The Lights, top 3 · ✦ The Orders, next 5 · ◆ The Sciences, next 7) and light up when the real leaderboard launches. This About page is new: everything app-level moved here from Profile.
v0.7.1 — Nov 2, 2026. Residence city now looks itself up automatically when you save — no separate Find step — and what gets saved is the matched place (e.g. "Bonney Lake, Washington"), never a broken entry. If a city can't be found, your other changes still save and you're told plainly.
v0.7.0 — Nov 2, 2026. Dual-anchor scoring: a lodge now scores the smaller of the bands from your home lodge and your residence city, so a visit pays big only when it is far from both — and the old changeable origin point is retired. The live test became a Founding Season through Jan 31, 2027: the Dec 1 reset is cancelled — verified visits roll into your live account at the Feb 1 conversion with points recalculated under the new scoring, plus a founding bonus (5 points at 3 verified lodges, 10 at 5).
v0.6.0 — Nov 1, 2026. The Washington live test began. For test integrity the GPS demo mode was retired: check-ins use your real location or the provisional path. Payments off, email sign-in and sync on.
v0.5.1 — Oct 31, 2026. New coin art throughout: a true-round, cleaner rendering of the Sojourner coin — plain pillar capitals, fine sun rays, detailed serpent — now used for the app logo, home-screen icons, and share cards.
v0.5.0 — Oct 31, 2026. Optional accounts: sign in from Profile with an email link — no password — and your passport syncs across your devices. Nothing changes if you never sign in: the app still works fully on this device, offline included.

Credits & data sources

Lodge names, addresses, meeting patterns, and the officer and contact details on lodge cards come from the Grand Lodge of Washington's public Lodge Locator. Listings change — confirm with the lodge before a long drive. Distances are road-time estimates, not surveyed routes.
